The Greenbank pub is a community-focused venue at the heart of the area, offering food, entertainment and events – the team share their thoughts on life and work in Greenbank, BS5.
Greenbank is a vibrant and welcoming multicultural neighbourhood with good transport links to the city centre (but way less hectic and touristy), within walking distance of Stapleton Road train station and well-connected bus routes.
The Bristol and Bath railway path also provides a traffic-free route not only the short distance to the centre of Bristol, but also further afield to Bath – it’s a scenic route and a valued asset to Greenbank residents and adjoining areas.
A short walk away, nearby St Mark’s Road has a great range of local shops and eateries (Radical Roasters serving up great locally-roasted coffee and handmade cakes from a female led indie company is a highlight) and bustling Church Road in the opposite direction, with all of its amenities and again links to the centre also features some great independents – and if it’s green space you’re looking for, the green expanses of Greenbank Cemetery and Eastville Park are both great for a stroll.
There’s a great community scene – the community centre is a real hub, and the Grand Iftar celebration is a wonderful showcase of Easton’s multicultural community coming together each year. The Plough is great for dancing, The Chelsea for some underground music, and of course the many events at the Greenbank!
